Living In Ann Arbor
Ann Arbor offers the best of both worlds: the community and warmth of a small town and the cultural activities of a large university community. Here you’ll have the choice of fine restaurants or corner burger joints, and odds are you’ll bump into someone you know along the way.
It’s a town that’s easy to navigate, especially from our residence halls and apartments. Within walking distance, you’ll find museums, art-house movie theaters, boutiques, record stores, bistros, and breathtaking parks and green spaces. Our stages and concert halls attract a stunning array of musical talent, and in the summer the streets are transformed by not just one but four art fairs.
And it’s a great launching pad for trips. Detroit and Canada are about an hour’s drive away. The beauty of Michigan’s Great Lakes are a few hours farther than that. And with Detroit Metropolitan Airport about a half hour away, it’s easy to catch a flight to the East and West Coasts, or anywhere in between.
